Youth Program

We work with schools and youth programs to facilitate trainings on human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. We promote prevention by teaching youth how to recognize signs of trafficking, how to identify relevant cultural norms that contribute to exploitation, and by promoting empathy and compassion amongst them so that they can end the demand within their generation.

We are currently partnered with the Gardena Juvenile Justice Intervention Program (GJJIP), and have facilitated workshops for middle and high schools in the Long Beach Unified School District since 2018.

Our Approach

We meld together a structured curriculum while creating a safe place to have real discussions with our student participants. Our goal is to incite a meaningful change in their perspective of important topics such as exploitation, victimization, and human dignity, that go far beyond our program, and beyond the classroom setting. Our youth are the biggest part of the solution, and we need to include them in the conversation.

For Businesses, Service Providers, and the Community

In addition to facilitating our program for youth, we also provide awareness trainings for businesses, other service providers, and the community to help participants identify signs of human trafficking, teach them how to safely report a suspected case, and inform them on what they can do to keep their loved ones safe. Awareness of each of these key components may help save a life either through identification, or by helping us end the demand for exploitation.

We have worked with the Union Rescue Mission’s staff at Hope Gardens, clinicians at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking in Los Angeles (CASTLA), volunteers at For the Child, the housekeeping department at the Downtown Long Beach Marriott Residence Inn, and more.

Remember, true change occurs when those who are not affected are also invested in solving the problem–so no matter the industry, help keep yourself and your staff informed on this important issue to help us end human trafficking!
